Hacks make our lives easier because they’re essentially shortcuts that allow us to reach our goals faster. There are hacks for everything in life, including online shopping! Now, online shopping is already a good deal, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get more out of your money with a few simple hacks and tips.

You can always get better deals if you know where to go and what you’re doing. That’s why today I bring you 5 hacks to help you save money on your online shopping without having to go through too much trouble. Let’s get started!

  1. Look for Promotional Codes Before Checking Out

When you’re shopping online, promotional codes are a must. Promotional codes are special keywords or passwords you can use to get an additional discount on the things you want to purchase. Almost every eCommerce business has a promotional code box you can use before you check out.

This is why you need to make a habit of looking for the promotional code before you start shopping so you can have it at hand. If you can’t find any, make sure to contact customer service and ask them. You can also use the live chat, which is something many websites have, and you’ll get it faster!

  1. Like or Follow All Your Favorite Stores

If you shop on frequent eCommerce sites, then you should like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter, Instagram, and any other social media they may have. Make sure you follow them on all their social media profiles so you don’t miss a thing. You never know when they’ll share a promotional code or when they’ll have a sale, so it will help you a lot to stay updated about what they’re up to on a daily basis.

  1. Fill Up Your Cart and Leave It Like That

Online retailers all have on thing in common: they’re watching everything you do, and in this case, that’s a good thing. Let’s take Amazon, for example. When you browse for things or purchase them, your shopper profile expands. That’s how they’re able to make tailored recommendations.

They will also notice when you fill up your cart but you fail to make the purchase. They want you to buy, so they’ll remind you via email or notification that you forgot things in your cart, and that’s when the discounts will start appearing. This is not a good money-saving strategy for when you want to buy a gift or something that you need right away, but whenever you can wait for it, you should just fill up your cart and leave it there.

  1. Don’t Pay For Shipping

Don’t ever pay for shipping. I know that can be difficult to do some times, but there are ways to avoid paying for shipping. Amazon Prime, for example, offers free shipping on most of their products. Promotional codes are also great because most of them include free shipping as well. So, if you want to save a few bucks, look for promotional codes or choose items with free shipping. Another thing you can do is wait until December 18th, which is Free Shipping Day, to make your purchase if you’re not in a rush.

  1. Get a Lower Price

This hack or tip is for Amazon shoppers specifically. When you purchase something on Amazon and then you see the price on the item drops within a week, you could be entitled to credit for that amount of money. So, pay attention to the things you’ve bought and make sure to talk to a rep when you see the price drops on something you’ve bought recently.

Another easy way to get items for a lower price on Amazon is letting them know that you’ve found the same item on another retailer for less. Just go to the “product details” tab on the item you want and click on “Tell us about a lower price”, then share the link and wait a couple of days. They might lower the price and maybe you’ll even get free shipping, so it’s a win/win.

Now you can save some money while shopping online without too much fuzz. Happy shopping!
